Decaydance Fest, August 21st at the Olympia Hall in Paris.
Greatest.Show.EVER.
We were on the balcony. At first we were kind of towards the back, but we could still see well. But then everyone in the section in front of us stood up and we couldn't really see anymore, but we couldn't stand because then the people behind us wouldn't be able to see. So my mom complained to someone working there, and we got moved to the front section of the balcony! We were in the third or fourth row, and had an amazing view! It was awesome.
First up was
Cobra Starship. Once again, they blew me away. They honestly do such a great live show. They sound great and Gabe is so energetic. I swear he doesn't stop moving at all, he's constantly bouncing around the stage, dancing and singing and just being great. It makes it kind of hard to take pictures though :p But I tried. It was also the first time I'd ever used that camera, so I wasn't quite sure how to work it... I think the pictures get better as the show went, because I figured out how to use it and which setting were best and stuff...
And here's a video.

They didn't play for very long though... Only five songs, including Bring It (with William from TAI... and Travis from GCH)
The Academy Is... played next. Also not for very long, but a little longer than Cobra Starship. They were also really good (again.) I've seen them three times now, but the first time was the best. That was last summer. The shows this summer were better in a way though, because now they have a whole bunch of other songs to sing (since Santi was released) but I don't know. Maybe the only reason I was more impressed last year is because it was the first time I saw them, which is always something special... Anyway. William has a great voice, and it's just as good live as it is on their albums. I love them =)
Gym Class Heroes was up next. Out of all the bands there, I like them the least. Last summer when they were at Warped I listened for a song or two, but I'm not really into rap and I don't know, I just never really got into GCH like other people did. All the songs that I like most by them have Patrick or William singing in it, and it's their parts that I like, not the rapping or GCH parts. So whatever. My friend liked them the most out of all the bands we saw, so it's definitely not that they're bad or anything. Just not my favorite.
When they sang Cupid's Chokehold, Patrick came out for one of the choruses, but then left again. And when they sang Clothes Off! he didn't come out at all, but The Butcher and Dirty did!
And they stripped! (Click for video) It was so funny.
And then came the band I was looking forward to the most.
Panic! At The Disco, ladies and gentlemen. They were so good. So so good.
Video 1 &
Video 2 (They're short, for some reason I could only fit a maximum of 5 minutes video on the camera, and since I wanted to film each band I couldn't get any complete songs. Which is really too bad, because it's great quality... if I may say so myself)
They played two of their new songs, the Middle of Summer one and the Back To The Streets one. And we now know that the latter is actually called "Nine In The Afternoon" because Ryan said so! Yay!
They played longer than all the bands before them, which was fine by me. I didn't want them to stop... even though I knew Fall Out Boy was next and I obviously did want to see them too... I still wished Panic! would play just a liiiittle longer. Or a lot longer.
I think they have definitely improved over the past year. Brendon hit every note without a single flaw. I did notice he skipped the word "again" in IWSNT, and in past performances that seems to be something he's had trouble with... but whatever. He sounded amazing and Ryan (and even Jon) did great backup.
And oh! During Camisado Brendon sang part of Roxanne, and then they went back to Camisado! =D
My mom (who's awesome and tagged along so that we could go since it was all the way in Paris) thought they were the best performance of the night! Not that her opinion really means that much, because she thought Fall Out Boy was a bunch of noise and sucked live. Which they so didn't. But they weren't amazing amazing like Panic! was... Oh god I am so looking forward to their new CD. I wish it was coming out this fall instead of next year. But at least their playing some of the songs during shows, so that we're not totally dying of suspense.
Anyway. It's picture time!

(I love how you can totally see the spotlight in that one :p )
Yeahh there was like a random doll's head on the keyboard. I'm not sure what that was all about...
Sadly, P!ATD couldn't play forever. It was
Fall Out Boy time. They opened with Thriller, and Gabe came on stage! I love him. And Travis also came on stage at the beginning of The Take Over, The Break's Over.
They sang the same covers they did at Pukkelpop (Don't Matter, Power Of Love and Beat It) and Patrick had the same outfit on. (So did Gabe, by the way.) This time I had a good view, a clear sound, and was really able to enjoy their performance. Patrick seems to sing lower during live shows than on their albums... at Pukkelpop the beginning of Thnks Fr Th Mmrs was really low, and this time it was too but not quite as much so. It's different, not bad though.
They're set was pretty much identical to the one at Pukkelpop. They opened Dance Dance by singing part of One And Only (the song they did with Timbaland) but I can't remember if Pete said the same thing this time... I don't think he did. At Pukkelpop, when Patrick was done with the whole "wipe that smile off your fucking face" thing Pete said "Are you motherfuckers ready to dance? Are you motherfuckers ready to dance, dance?!" and they started playing Dance, Dance. And Dirty came out on stage and well.. danced xP
And when they sang "I slept with someone in FOB..." Pete said "I fucked with someone in FOB..."
At one point, they left the stage and Dirty came back on. He talked about the Decaydance Family and had everyone make the Clandestine bat sign and asked if we wanted more FOB. Which we did. So he had the whole place chanting "FALL OUT BOY! FALL OUT BOY!" and then came back on for another few songs. They ended with Saturday, like usual.

It was an absolutely amazing night. I'm never going to forget just how incredibly thrilled I was to be there. I feel so lucky.
